|Work Day - March 2013|
Here's a quick run-down of how the Both Hands project works: First we have to establish our core group of volunteers that will be helping us do the work. Then we need to find a widow and assess her needs. Our volunteers then send out letters to their friends and family asking them to sponsor them for the day. Next we contact our local home improvement stores to get all the materials donated. Final step is showing up on our designated work day, and blessing the widow. (There are other steps, however these are the main ones)
At this point you might be asking, "What about the orphan?" All the money that gets raised from the sponsorship letters goes directly to our adoption agency as a tax-deductible (for the donor) donation :) The widow gets blessed, and our little Ethiopian angel is one step closer to coming home. Such a great project to be associated with. From checking out other peoples projects that they've done, I've seen raised any where from $5,000 to $15,000. Even if we're at the low end of that, we would be so thrilled!
We're looking to get around 30 to 40 people so if you're interested, and your in the Louisville area, let us know. Or if you'd like to sponsor some of our workers, that would be great too, just send me an email and we'll work it all out. Thank you so much and God bless you all!!
