Worthy Of The Prize Fundraiser

Hey everybody. Before I go on about the fundraiser, I want to begin by thanking each and every one of you.Your prayers and support have meant so much to us. We could never do this without you guys :)
Now....I introduce to you, the sponsored family for the month of June on worthyoftheprize.com.......The Dalton's!!!! We are so excited about this. The people at Worthyoftheprize have been so great (and incredibly generous) to do this for us.

Some of you may be wondering what this means. Basically, the kind people over at Worthyoftheprize select a different family each month to sponsor. During that month, all the proceeds from their "Chosen Child" bands, as well as their "Chosen" necklaces, go to the sponsored family's adoption agency. It's as simple as that!

We are really hoping everybody can help us spread the word about this. Please click the Facebook share button to the right so we can generate as much traffic as possible. Thank you all for your support.

If you're looking to support us by donation, please click the "Donate" tab on the top right of the page. Or you can go to our T-Shirt's page and order shirts. 100% of your donations are going directly towards the fees and expenses related to adopting. Love you all.

One more thing to cross off our adoption checklist!

Yesterday I had the luxury of leaving work early to meet Leslie for our fingerprinting at the USCIS. I can't tell you all the details about this (because I don't know), but what I can tell you is that it's expensive, and it's a mandatory step everyone must take in the international adoption process :)

My actual fingerprint in case you were wondering (Just kidding)

Fortunately, there was no one waiting when we got there, and we were in and out in less than 15 minutes. It couldn't have been a better experience. I'm not sure if this is the norm, or if we're the exception, but it wasn't bad at all.

Most people already know, but in case you don't, Marissa (birth mother that chose us) is due in a week, so we should have an answer pretty soon on whether or not we need to make a diaper run! We would love more than anything to bring little baby Garrett home with us, but above all else, we trust in God, His will, and His impeccable timing. Love you all!

T-Shirts and Silicone Wristbands!

Hey guys and gals, hope all is well in your world. All is definitely good here. Marissa (birth mother that chose us) is due June 1st, but she hasn't totally made her mind up yet about the adoption. I can't imagine having to make such a decision, and I ask that you keep her and Garrett in your prayers.

Thanks to our wonderful friends at Sampan Screen Printing, we got all of our shirts in. They look great. We are still in the process of getting pictures up. Click on the T-Shirt's tab above if you're interested in finding out more information on the t-shirts. If you are in the Louisville, Southern Indiana area, and need custom shirts, I promise you, Sampan won't let you down. They were all incredibly helpful and the order was filled in no time. (Thanks again Sampan!!)
Another side note; I have been thinking (all day, everyday) about other ways to fundraise and I thought of something that I haven't really seen other adoption family's doing. Silicone wristbands. I found a company that has really reasonable prices on custom wristbands, which should allow us to sell them for pretty cheap and still make a decent profit. If you have any thoughts or ideas on this, or really anything :) don't hesitate to post a comment, or email us. We appreciate all the feedback.

God bless you all, and thanks for the prayers, support, and encouragement. We love you!

Prayers for Baby Garrett

Hey guys and gals!! In case you haven't heard, we got some big news on Tuesday. Our domestic adoption profile has been chosen by a birth mother (Marissa) from northern Kentucky, and the craziest part about it, she's due June 1st!! Leslie was able to talk to Marissa yesterday on the phone for almost two hours. They really seemed to click. Marissa informed Leslie several times that if she is to give Garrett up for adoption, she wants us to have him. Unfortunately, that is an if  at this point. Marissa is undergoing one of the most difficult decisions a person can make in this life, and at the moment, she's unsure.

I ask that you pray with us for Marissa. That God will give her the strength and the courage to make the decision that is in accordance with His will. Pray that she remains healthy, and has a very normal pregnancy. Pray for the health of little baby Garrett. Pray that God makes clear to Marissa exactly where He wants him to go.

One thing we realized last night was that regardless of what happens with this, we have a new friend in Marissa. And whether we get to bring Garrett home, or Marissa does, this baby is going to be well loved and cared for. We have no doubt about that. Blessings.

Big News on Wordless Wednesday!!

As most of you know (or should know), Leslie and I are adopting internationally and domestically. That may sound daunting to many, but we have no intention of ruling out any avenue God may choose to build our family. With that being said, when we began the adoption process, we chose to do home studies for both international and domestic. We knew that if God only wanted us to pursue one of the two, they both wouldn't have been laid on our hearts so strongly, and if only one was meant to be, God would close the door on the other one.

Anyways, on with the news.......Drum roll please.........Our social worker called us yesterday and told us that a birth mother that had been reviewing our profile (among others), had chosen us!!! We are so excited. What an amazing feeling! Of course we are still a little guarded after experiencing the miscarriage, and other things, so we are trying to remain calm. Though it is difficult because the birth mother us due June 1st. And, she's already dilated to 2cm. We know that anything can happen at this point, but it seems likely that we could have a new baby boy within the next couple weeks. She's giving him the name Garrett Michael.

So many people have already offered their old infant stuff and we appreciate it so much. We have the most amazing support system. If you too have baby, infant, or toddler (really anything child related), we would be happy to take it off your hands. If we can use it, great, if not, we'll put it in the yard sale, as this is going to get expensive quick :)

Please keep us in your prayers, and more importantly, the health of the birth mother and little Garrett Michael. Thank you all. We love you so much.
